chloroprene rubber CR244
Neoprene, also known as chloroprene rubber and Xinping rubber. Synthetic rubber produced by α-polymerization of chloroprene (2- chloro -1,3- butadiene) is widely used in weathering products, viscose soles, coatings and rocket fuels.
The flake or block with milky white, beige or light brown appearance is an elastomer produced by alpha polymerization of chloroprene (i.e. 2- chloro -1,3- butadiene) as the main raw material. The solubility parameter of chloroprene rubber accounts for δ = 9.2 ~ 9.41. Soluble in toluene, xylene, dichloroethane and vanadium ethylene, slightly soluble in acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate and cyclohexane, insoluble in n-hexane and solvent gasoline, but soluble in mixed solvent composed of good solvent and bad solvent and non-solvent or bad solvent and non-solvent in proper proportion, swelling in vegetable oil and mineral oil but not dissolving.
Good physical and mechanical properties, oil resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance, sunlight resistance, ozone resistance, acid and alkali resistance and chemical reagent resistance. Disadvantages are poor cold resistance and storage stability. It has high tensile strength, elongation, reversible crystallinity and good adhesion. Aging resistance and heat resistance. Excellent oil resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. Weather resistance and ozone aging resistance are second only to ethylene propylene rubber and butyl rubber. The heat resistance is equivalent to that of nitrile rubber, with decomposition temperature of 230 ~ 260℃, short-term resistance of 120 ~ 150℃, long-term use at 80 ~ 100℃, and certain flame retardancy. Oil resistance is second only to nitrile rubber. Good corrosion resistance to inorganic acid and alkali. Poor cold resistance and poor electrical insulation. The storage stability of raw rubber is poor, which leads to the phenomenon of “self-sulfur”. The Mooney viscosity increases and the raw rubber hardens. Foreign brands include AD-30 (USA), A-90 (Japan), 320 (Germany) and MA40S (France).
